Chion’s Love Story: A Journey of Hope and Renewal

Chion’s Love Story is a tender tale of angels adorned with fresh leaves—each leaf a symbol of vitality, each angel a messenger of hope. These stories of blessings and encouragement begin in Heavenly Father’s forest, a place where faith and nature intertwine.
The inspiration for Chion’s Love Story was born in the aftermath of the March 11, 2011 East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Witnessing the sudden loss and devastation, Chion felt a profound calling: to share the salvation of Jesus Christ and the true peace of life through her paintings.
Three years later, her mission expanded. Chion began to illustrate and write about Japan, hoping to reveal another side of the country—one filled with spiritual depth and quiet beauty. Her work has since appeared in:
-
Truth Monthly Newspaper (Japan Fun Walker)
-
TriBridges Media (Penguin Express)
-
North American Angel Heart Magazine (Japanʻs Story)
For Chion, Japanese culture, painting, and writing were all uncharted territories. Yet, with joy and faith, she continues to walk each day with her Heavenly Father, embracing the journey as both artist and storyteller.

Chion’s Love Story Calendar
In Japan, Christianity is often seen as formal or intimidating. In 2017, inspired by a new mission from God, Chion launched The Chion’s Love Story Calendar—a charming collection of cute illustrations and Bible verses. Designed as a kawaii gospel booklet and gift, the calendar aims to spark warm, welcoming conversations and foster connections for Missionaries / Christians and their friends .Starting with 700 copies in 2017, the calendar’s reach has grown to 4,000 copies by 2026. Funding and support come primarily from overseas Christians, especially from Chion’s hometown communities in Hong Kong and Canada
